A few years ago we were given a voucher for the wine barrels. It’s expired now, and they wanted an extra €70 for us to use it for an overnight stay. We politely said no.

A friend gave me a voucher for a night in one of your wine barrels, and we used it together. The whole experience was incredible, and you could see how much care and love went into the idea. We followed a treasure map to find our barrel, then enjoyed the Vespa, breakfast basket, and selected wines over good conversation with a beautiful view. Thanks so much for having us. We wholeheartedly recommend you.

The vineyards and views were wonderful, and the wines were good. The two people running the trip, the driver and his wife who told us the stories, were very nice and funny. We spent three hours on a large yellow trailer pulled by a tractor, listening to stories and having wine served. Lunch was included as pictured, with a vegetarian option consisting of cheese. They specialize in group tours for more than 20 people, so everyone can ride on the same trailer. Highly recommended.

We were given this wine-barrel overnight stay as a gift and had a wonderful getaway in Markelsheim. The barrels are charming, and each one is decorated with accessories to match its color, whether red, green, blue, or pink. The two barrels are all yours, one for snacks and one for sleeping, with a bathroom in the sleeping barrel. There are also two outdoor seating areas where you can enjoy the beautifully prepared breakfast or dinner and taste delicious Markelsheim wine while looking out over the vineyards. The whole concept is thoughtful and well put together, right down to little things like a flashlight, seat cushion, lighter, and fly swatter. They’ve included just about everything you might need, apart from a way to avoid coming back! It was simply wonderful. Thanks so much, Jakobshof. We’ll definitely return.
