Villa Thusnelda

The food was pretty good, the prices were great, and after days in the area it was a relief to finally get decent coffee from an espresso machine. The staff made the evening miserable, though. They were distant and indifferent from the start, and the main waiter was drinking behind the bar. We had a full dinner, but only found out when it was time to pay that they wouldn't take cards. That was mentioned only on a half-erased chalkboard. We didn't have cash at first, but tried to work out a solution with the staff. We were the second group that evening to run into this. They told us, hikers, to go to “the Czech Republic” or a town 6 km away. After we tried shops around town to get cash and managed to arrange something with other guests in the restaurant, the drunk waiter gave us our change in 1 cent coins out of spite. A horrible experience. I'd definitely avoid this restaurant and pay extra somewhere else.

The restaurant is called cafe and bistro daheim, right by the river, and we had the best meal of our Malerweg trip so far. The vegan options were delicious too, and the service was very grotendeels.

Really disappointing café. The seller was rude and unpleasant, and charged €7 for an iced coffee in a disposable cup. That price was absurd. Not recommended at all, it was a thoroughly unpleasant experience.

We got two iced coffees, and each one cost 7 euros. They rip you off. Avoid this place, there are other coffee shops farther up the street.
