The apartment is affordable and close to the town center, yet tucked into a quiet courtyard. Just be aware that the walls are thin, so loud conversations from next door carry through. The floors aren't heated either, so bring slippers.

There is a parking space of its own, and the place was clean and fine. Getting the keys was the frustrating part: you have to call the owner from a phone in the building lobby, then wait while he comes over. We were left standing there with all our luggage in the cold. It's also not near the town center, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're without a car.

The apartment itself was clean and spacious, and there's a shared backyard. Finding it was difficult, though: Google Maps sent us round and round, and the long entrance was filthy and looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in ages. We had no contact with anyone in person.

The location is good, and it works well enough as a hotel if the more appealing options are already full. Still, compared with most of the other hotels on our trip, this one wasn't very good and felt a little run down. I'd rate it around 3.5 if that were possible.

We have apartment number 1, which was prepared for all four of us. It's spacious and clean, and the WiFi is great. It's early morning as I write this, so I haven't had a look around Baden-Baden yet. If you're in town, I can recommend staying here.
