Studio an der Therme

I was left on the city streets late at night with my luggage, a nearly dead phone, roaming data, and rain about to start. I’d booked ahead and confirmed the price with them by phone and text. Since I was traveling alone and arriving around 10:20 pm, I had double-checked everything. But when I got there, they refused the agreed price and wanted €20 more. I showed the person taking me to the apartment the messages from the reservation manager, but she wouldn’t accept them and told me to leave. She also insisted that I pay the full amount in cash on the spot, without having told me in advance. By about 10:40 pm I had nowhere to stay and had to try making another booking at the last minute on my dying phone. The owners were very rude. I’d strongly advise against booking with them. There are lots of other places in the city.

Great value for the money, and the place was very clean and convenient. The location is top notch.

What we rented as an apartment turned out to be just a room. It doesn’t have the amenities you’d expect from an apartment: no kitchen or sink, and the refrigerator is tiny. The microwave cord doesn’t even reach the outlet. It’s also not set up for working, with no workspace, no electrical outlets, and a very small table. People come and go whenever they want.

We were happy with our three-night stay from October 30, 2025, to November 2, 2025, and would recommend the apartment. The wooden interior made the place feel welcoming, and the bedroom was spacious, with a comfortable bed, high mattress and topper. There was also a sofa by a large opening window, a small armchair, a fan, and working underfloor heating. The location was especially handy. It’s 30 meters from the Baths of Caracalla, close to the center, and just 10 meters from the bus stop that takes you up the mountain to the funicular and its lovely view. The apartment is on the first floor. There’s a small entry hall with a cabinet and coat rack, and two umbrellas for guests to use. The kitchen had a two-burner electric stove, plates, glasses, cups, a coffee machine with four pods, and a kettle for tea. There’s a toaster, vacuum cleaner, and a small outdoor safe with a key too. A washing machine came with one detergent tablet for a load. We also appreciated the new dish sponge, since plenty of people leave used ones behind. There’s a table with three chairs and a small balcony with a drying rack. The bathroom has no window, but does have a vent, and it fits between two large windows. The shower is standard, with a heated towel rail, hairdryer, three toilet rolls, a bath mat, two hand towels, two bath sheets, and plenty of shower gel, shampoo, and other detergents. The only letdown was the TV: it only had German channels, no satellite, and our attempt to program it didn’t work.
