That bed was the best we'd had in two weeks on the road, plush but still supportive, and reason enough for us to return. We also thought breakfast was lovely, despite some lukewarm reviews we'd seen. A friendly waitress welcomed us into the lounge, showed us how to use the coffee and hot chocolate machine, and took our order for fluffy, flavorful scrambled eggs. The coffee was strong and well brewed. There were plenty of German-style options, though the portions were modest. The quirky decor includes a life-size E.T. statue perched on the lanai, which added to the charm. The kids called the compact, functional elevator a "rocket ship," and it saved us from carrying bags and tired little legs up to the third floor. We booked with cleanliness as the deciding factor, and the hotel delivered. The crisp linens and fluffy towels were lovely, and the bathroom was sparkling clean. After all our travel, we appreciated how carefully everything was looked after. We couldn't have asked for more comfort, hospitality, and cleanliness.

We spent three nights in the attic room and were happy to come back to it each day. It was cozy and decorated to feel like home, and there was a coffee machine in the room. I also liked the shower gel and soap, and the drinks were very affordable. Breakfast was reasonably priced, with lots of choice and many homemade items. We especially liked the cooked options, including fried vegetables alongside the usual German breakfast dishes. Everything was good quality, especially the bread. Hotel breakfasts often disappoint me, so I appreciated that they hadn't skimped on the ingredients. The staff were super helpful and made all our wishes possible. I'd highly recommend Wohnbar to anyone traveling to Bamberg.

The Altstadt is only a short walk away. Our room was spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable.

There's plenty to do nearby, and shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The location is great and the service was great too. I like to work out, though, and there isn't a gym, so I had to improvise.
