Wellness Pension Sonneneck

After a day in the lovely winter scenery, our group of 14 could all enjoy the wellness area: they opened the outdoor sauna for us in the afternoon, along with the other saunas, swimming pool, and steam room. A big thank you to Ms. Lausser and her team. They’d already been friendly and professional in the phone and email arrangements, and were very accommodating when we arrived. They even moved breakfast earlier for us on a day when we had to set off especially early. The guesthouse has modern, new rooms, a lovely spa area, and a great breakfast buffet.

Breakfast was fresh and varied, with regional products that aren’t easy to find everywhere. The staff were warm and welcoming, and I never felt like just another guest. My newly renovated room and bathroom were quiet, cozy, comfortable, and very clean. I slept wonderfully. The wellness area really stood out: the sauna is modern and spacious enough to relax even when busy, and the bright, clean pool is large enough for a few proper laps. It felt like a little oasis, unlike the tiny pools you often find in guesthouses. Most rooms have also been renovated to a high standard. The whole property is lovingly managed, well maintained, and has a welcoming feel, with attention to detail throughout. If you want a relaxed guesthouse that takes wellness seriously, this is a great tip.

The location is peaceful and sunny, with lovely winding roads practically on the doorstep for tours through the Bavarian Forest and Bohemian Forest. After a day riding our Vespas, we could unwind with the sauna, massages, and plenty of quiet. The Wellness Pension Sonneneck turned out to be just the right place to stay on our ride through the Bavarian Forest. 🏍️ The hosts were so warm and helpful that we felt welcome straight away. Our room was cozy, very clean, and had the comfort we needed after a long day on the road. Half-board was included, and the evening meal was fresh, delicious, and made with care. A real highlight. We’d highly recommend it to Vespa and motorcycle riders looking for hospitality, relaxation, and a good starting point for tours. We’ll be back!

The place is a little dated, though very clean. The food and service at the Brunnenhof Hotel are excellent. Guests can use the neighboring Brunnenhof Hotel’s facilities, or walk across the street to the Brunnenhof pool in a rented bathrobe.
