Friedenseiche

The staff were professional and welcoming, and they adjusted the dishes to suit what we asked for. We had a wonderful dinner at Hotel Friedenseiche, with splendid food and service. It’s definitely worth a visit.

I was here for a couple of business nights, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. They wore traditional dress, pointed me straight to my colleagues when I arrived, and offered to top up our glasses when they were nearly empty. Everyone spoke English well. I can just about manage to order beer in German, like most Brits. The food was excellent, whatever people chose. Breakfast was typical German fare, with plenty of pastries and other options, though the only cooked item was a boiled egg. It’s a picturesque hotel in a lovely Bavarian village. I’d recommend it whether you’re visiting as a tourist or here for business.

The food was especially good, and everything else was excellent. The hotel itself is very nice in general, though I don’t understand the four-star rating when there’s no mini fridge in the room. They also didn’t replace the towels every day.

We came from Penzberg for the restaurant. The meal was good quality and not too expensive. I wasn’t very hungry, so I ordered a salad, but was surprised to find the pumpkin raw. The salad and a beer came to 19€.
