Hotel Konert

The Wi-Fi was unusable for work, and the TV was tiny, with tinny sound and a blurry picture. The bathroom was barely wide enough for the toilet. I can’t speak to the breakfast, but dinner portions were too small for hungry tradesmen. We found a decent meal at Gasthaus Schweizer in Kerpen, about a 10-minute drive away. Our company booked three rooms, and all three had the same shower problem: the hot water pressure was so weak it could take 5-10 minutes to rinse shampoo out after a long day on the job. I can’t give this hotel five stars in good conscience.

As a "fitter," I’d urge caution. The owner seems to twist things to suit his own purposes, and the hotel is expensive. Cooking food in the rooms can result in a fine, and workers are reprimanded even for slightly dirtying the towels. Then an invoice is sent straight to the employer, including work hours that aren't documented. My employer doesn't cover invoices like that. I should add that photos were taken showing there had been no soiling. Have a nice day.

The Christmas decorations were amazing, and there’s a function room available too. The owners were welcoming, and the owner even cooks late into the evening. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. It’s a shame the place wasn’t busy.

I’ve been on a construction project in Elsdorf for a while and have been staying at Hotel Konert. The staff are really friendly, and it’s a lovely old-fashioned pub with great food. Highly recommended.
