Apartmenthaus Berlin Neukölln

I didn't expect much, but basic cleanliness is something I expect from any stay. The floor had a stain that had only been lightly cleaned, and the place smelled of vomit. That made this the worst stay of my life.

The self check-in worked fine for us, and the building has a good lift. It's also close to the S bahn, with the main centre of Berlin about 15 minutes away. This is a basic but fine apartment near Neukölln, if you can put up with a noisy suburb. I was surprised to find a fridge and cooking stovetop. We made some nice lunches and saved quite a bit, something I wouldn't usually manage in a hotel at this price. There's no reception.

The 24/7 bar is a nice touch, and the rooms were clean and decent for the price. The problem was the staff. All three people we dealt with were unkind and seemed irritated by basic questions. I try to be understanding since late-night hostel work must be tough, but I didn't have a single good interaction with someone at the front desk. You also have to pay to use a towel.

A good location and good value if you just need a bed for one night. The rooms were clean, and bed sheets came free. It's right next to the S Bahn for a quick connection into the city, though it can get a little noisy at night. The roommates were quiet, but I'd still recommend earplugs. Breakfast was cheap and okay, although some items were missing.
