The location is good, and having a private bathroom is a plus. Beyond that, I found the place overpriced, dirty, and extremely basic.

The street noise was pretty noticeable, though the location itself is okay. What stood out even more was the very strong smell in my room. A shame.

The room could have been quite good, if it had been clean. The central location is convenient, but the women soliciting on Kurfürstenstraße are a common sight, so I wouldn’t call this family-friendly. Service is the main letdown: there’s essentially none. Rooms aren’t cleaned, and you only get fresh towels if you ask. Without regular cleaning, it’s no surprise the room and bathroom get dirty, greasy, and moldy. Such a shame, because this could be a nice place to stay.

The room is just about adequate for a night, but don’t look too closely, and the mattresses are terrible. I asked about room service and was told it only happens every three days. The house has an unpleasant smell, probably coming from the kitchen, though guests are welcome to use it. The landlord did greet me warmly, but that was the end of the positives. A subway station is a decent walk away, and from there you can get to the city center quickly.
