Atrium Berlin

We had one problem: we booked a private room with a double bed because my partner can’t sleep on two separate beds. Apart from that, it was clean and sunny, and pleasantly nice without being anything fancy. The cheerful staff helped with all our questions. Breakfast was included, but the vegan choices were limited. If you’re not vegan, there was plenty to pick from. Shops are close by, and I’d book here again if I needed to.

Good public transport links, with a bus and metro stop within a five-minute walk. Breakfast was decent too. The hotel itself is basic, with tiny rooms and beds, okay for a short trip but don’t expect much comfort. During the hot summer we had to sleep with the windows open, and the rooms facing the road were loud with traffic.

There are three different tram stops within a 10-minute walk, so the location is alright. Breakfast is included, but the rooms and service feel too costly for what you get. The rooms are very old, and the walls are thin enough that you can hear people talking next door. Hot water was a problem in our showers. The geyser couldn’t heat enough water quickly, so we never got more than 30 seconds of hot water at a time.

The rooms were clean, but there’s no soundproofing at all, which was my biggest complaint. Breakfast was good, and the location is good, close to or perhaps even in the city centre. It’s a rather cheap hotel, so if you’re not expecting too much, it’ll probably suit your needs.
