I booked a double room through MisterBnB for six nights last week, but left after just an hour. The place was filthy and disordered. There were yellow and brown marks on all the bedding, dust all over the floor and furniture, and dirt and hair on the closet floor and walls. There was even a used syringe in the room. Behind the TV and inside the fan, the dust was at least three centimeters thick. The windows were so dirty we couldn't see through them, and when I raised it, the owner disrespectfully told me I should get new glasses. The shared kitchen and bathrooms were disgusting and smelled bad. The guesthouse looked nothing like the owner's photos. The owner said they'd cleaned before I arrived and thought everything was fine. When I requested a refund, they refused, saying they were satisfied with the cleanliness. Thankfully, after I sent photos to MisterBnB, I received the refund automatically. The owner then canceled the booking on MisterBnB a few hours before it ended, which meant I couldn't leave a review there, so they only keep the older positive reviews. I also saw other comments mentioning bed bugs. I can't verify those, but this place was dirty and felt dangerous. My advice to the owner: take a cleaning and hospitality course or stop ripping people off. In short, don't go there.

Maik has been a pleasure to stay with, and we're grateful for the lovely time he's given us. We've visited Berlin three times and stayed here each time. The guesthouse feels like a home away from home, and our first visit was so good that it has kept delivering ever since. We can't think of anything to complain about. The rooms had what we needed, and the shared bathrooms were clean and well looked after. There's a kitchen for making tea and coffee, and the owner was happy for us to use other facilities too. We especially appreciated that since we weren't great at getting breakfast ready on time. Viktoria Luis Platz station is only a few minutes away on foot, and our airport trip took about 55 minutes. There are great bars and restaurants nearby, so we didn't need public transport to go clubbing at night. We highly recommend the place and wish Maik continued success. The owner was friendly, and I had a comfortable room during my two-week stay. The place is in the middle of the old gay area, with leather bars and leather and sex shops all close enough to walk to, or stumble to. Three ubarn stations are a short walk away, and there are bus stops right outside. I'd stay again :)

While I was out for dinner, someone forced their way through the locked door, went through my things, and stole my iPhone, which I'd left charging. The door stayed broken for the next two days. Someone in management said a person had been let into the house, but there was no warning or information put on the door, and nobody took action to report it to the police. The whole thing felt very strange. I travel all over the world, and this has never happened to me before.
