Spreepolis Boardinghaus

There’s a lovely community feel here, which is especially nice if you’re new to the city and looking for your first place. The staff are kind and make sure you enjoy your stay. Thanks to Cornelia and Thomas for the lovely hospitality.

I lived here for a while and thought the apartments were amazing, with really good internet and an in-house gym. It is on the pricey side, but I think the benefits make it worthwhile. Update: I recently moved out, and they handled my deposit quickly without questions, as long as you return the apartment in good condition. Overall, one of the best places to stay if you’re new to berlin.

The apartment was simple, modern, and clean, with a comfy bed, cooking facilities, and a balcony. The shower room was clean too. Some balconies face a street that can get noisy, but the metal shutter blocks both light and sound. Check-in and checkout were very easy, and there’s a Lidl around the corner. It’s not very central, but it’s a ten-minute walk from where I train, so it worked well for me. Berlin public transport is great, and it’s an easy 45 minutes to the centre. If you want your own little apartment for a while, I’d recommend it.

Rooms on the B floor don’t have balconies, while the upper floors do. There’s heating in the room, but if you need a fan you’ll have to buy one. Each room has a small cooking setup with an induction cooker and some cookware. The rooms are clean and nice, with weekly cleaning included, a shared laundry area, and a few other small facilities. They’re suitable for one person, and should be able to accommodate couples too.
