Hotel Bellevue am Kurfürstendamm

I paid €180 for two days with breakfast and expected more. The photos on the website and booking pages don't match the room at all, and the room was a major letdown. The bathroom was tiny, with a low ceiling and mold, and the door was too small for its frame. The walls are so thin that you can hear people in other rooms, so there's no privacy. The building is old and run-down, cold and creaky, and whatever charm an old place might have disappears once you deal with how it functions. Breakfast felt like a complete scam: three options, all served at room temperature, and food wasn't replenished. Service for it was nearly nonexistent. Never again, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The only real drawback was the thin walls, since we could sometimes hear our neighbors. Otherwise, the room and bathroom were clean, breakfast had a decent variety, and the receptionist was friendly and informative. For the price and distance from the center, the stay was quite alright.

The building is old, and the walls are so thin there's no real privacy. The internet barely worked, so I often had to rely on mobile data, and the room service was awful. I arrived to find the room didn't feel cleaned. Location is the one good thing: fairly close to the center, about 20 minutes by metro. Breakfast was mediocre at best, even by three-star standards, with too little choice and variety. I'd seriously reconsider staying here unless a below-average breakfast, awful room service, and unreliable internet are fine with you.

Paid about €40, and for that I got a bed and my own washroom. I could hear other people, mostly kids and facility staff talking, but I slept through it fine. I don't know if there's any sound insulation, so bring earplugs if you're worried. No problems during my stay; I'd come back.
