Hotel City Green Berlin

The TV didn’t work. The hotel was clean and good, and the rooms were reasonable, with a small kitchen. Our weekend stay was fine, though the building work going on might make it noisier during the week.

I’ve stayed in some awful places, and this was one of the worst. The room was dirty when I arrived, with gloopy blue soap leaking into the bathroom sink and shower. The floor was dusty, and the towels were old and ragged. During the whole stay they never cleaned the room, just swapped the towels that already looked sad and made the bed with the same dirty linen. Every night, while it was still dark, reversing trucks and construction workers outside my window woke me up. Nobody warned us we’d be staying in the middle of a dusty, noisy building site. Barely any staff were around, and a stranger could walk in from the road and right up to the room door. There were no staff or locked doors before you got to the rooms, and I had to use a very dark, lonely corridor. I didn’t feel safe at all. On arrival I was also charged an extra tax that seemed random, even though nobody else in my group was. Neither Expedia nor the hotel seemed to care enough to sort it out. The cheap rate really isn’t worth it. The place is poorly run, and you’d be better off staying somewhere else. The photos on Expedia only show the interior, and that’s for a reason.

I’ve never left a review for a place before, but I’m truly disappointed. The cleaners only replace the towels and do the dishes. Even when you’re staying another day, they don’t sweep the floors, change the sheets, or wipe the desk, side table, or counters. The location is dusty, and there was a lot of sand in my room. I had to walk around in all that dust, and they wouldn’t even come sweep after I’d paid for the service.

The staff are rude, and they charge a lot for their services. There’s no room service, and rooms are only cleaned every three days.
