Leonardo Royal Hotel Berlin Alexanderplatz

The staff were excellent, and the facilities and room were satisfactory for the price, the use, and the hotel's proximity to the centre. Our stay was very pleasant, with a great location and a good price. Some rooms looked great, but ours felt a little tired and could use a touch-up, even though it was still modern and had all the amenities we needed. Next time, I'd ask for a room facing the other way or on a higher floor. Thanks to all the staff.

The reception team made a real difference from the start, helping with directions and suggestions and being friendly throughout. The metro is just a two-minute walk away, or it's a €9 Uber ride into the city. On our freezing midwinter trip, coming back to a room with the heater already on was bliss. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the shower was large and hot, just what we needed after walking around in the cold. The downstairs bar had a great choice of local and European wines, perfect for a glass before heading out again or thawing out first. For the quality at this price, it's hard to beat, and it's going on my list of favorite Berlin stays.

The staff were helpful and pleasant, and meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner were tasty, generous, and suited to different dietary needs. The room was cozy and quite comfortable, with free drinking water, coffee, and tea regularly replenished. Still, there was nothing particularly “royal” about it. There were no disposable slippers or toiletries such as a shower cap or mini soap, and the all-in-one product for hands, hair, body, and more was rather poor quality. I also found mold in places in the shower. The double bed was two single beds pushed together, and they moved apart during the night, leaving a wide gap.

It was easy to get around the city from Alexanderplatz: the U-Bahn, S-Bahn, and some mainline trains stop there, and tram M4 runs in front of the hotel about every 7-8 minutes. We could walk to Alexanderplatz, Rotes Rathaus, and several Christmas markets. The room was a good size, with a super-comfortable bed, and breakfast was a buffet with lots of hot and cold options. Lovely hotel. We'd definitely stay again.
