Limehome Berlin Chausseestrasse

Pheeew, I was surprised by how expensive Berlin is. €540 for two weekend nights in May. The room was spacious and clean, apart from the bathroom. The little kitchen was cute and had what we needed for a short stay. I can recommend it.

We had to spend two weeks arguing over the refund, since staff were difficult to reach and ignored our request for days. The initial refund covered only 35% of the first night. They claimed the room had been cleaned after that first night and said there’d be no more money back. Luckily, we had videos showing otherwise, and eventually got the 35% refund to cover the rest of our stay. The room was filthy. There was short black hair all over the sheets and in the shower, sticky stained counters with clear marks where glasses had sat, and dust balls in the corners. The curtains had come off, and we managed to fix them easily, so it seemed the cleaners had just been lazy. We contacted staff after about an hour of trying to get through. They offered two replacement rooms, but both were even dirtier, with dirty towels and the same hair and counter problems. After we reported that, they offered a refund and promised to clean our room the next day. Nobody came for the rest of our stay. It was a terrible experience, made worse by awful support.

I was very happy with the small apartment overall. The big problem is the lack of parking, which makes things really difficult if you're travelling by car.

The staff were friendly and quick to respond, and the breakfast deserves a mention. It costs extra, but was well worth the price. The apartment was clean and had the basic things we needed. It’s comfortable for three, two adults and a child. We were four, though, so we had to take turns eating dinner at the table. It’s a pleasant place, close to the underground and within easy reach of a market. I can recommend it.
