I've stayed here three times since 2014, and the first visit was during Germany's World Cup win that year. The city had a real buzz then, and you could feel it at the hotel too. Staff have always been helpful and friendly, and they speak English, though I understand some Deutsche. Rooms are consistently clean. The single beds are nearly queen size and very comfortable, and the showers have strong pressure. The bar had closed by 2019, but there's now a big cooler with beer and soft drinks, plus chilled glasses. You pay at reception or to the concierge, and the beer is reasonably priced for a major city hotel. I tried breakfast once: plenty of options, though a bit expensive.

The hotel is close to two underground stations, about 200-300 m away, and the price was decent. I had a larger room on the fifth floor with modern furniture and a comfortable king-size bed. Staff were friendly and the hotel was nice, though air conditioning would be useful in hot summer weather. Wi-Fi is free but very slow unless you pay for premium.

The rooms were spacious and really comfortable. The breakfast is basic, but there are some very good options. There are a few places to eat just a block away, and the zoo is about a 10-minute trip. Other interesting spots aren't too far either.

With the window open, street noise kept coming in, but closing it wasn't an option because the room stayed above 30 degrees at night. There's no AC, so I couldn't sleep. A huge disappointment, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking to rest.

We were four people in two rooms, but the heat made it hard to enjoy the stay. It was so warm overnight that none of us could sleep, and there was no AC. For a place charging €90 per day and calling itself a four-star hotel, that's hard to understand. The pillows were clean but far too soft to use, so we used the comforters as pillows instead, since it was too hot to need them. I can't recommend this hotel unless they install AC.
