Numa Berlin Potsdamer Platz

There’s a bus stop very close by, including buses to Berlin Hbf, and an S-Bahn station nearby. Gordon Pub is next door, a unique spot for sophisticated cocktails and drinks with extremely friendly staff. The room was pleasant, clean, and had an interesting old-school style. I liked the bathroom controls, with separate knobs for hot and cold water. Boxed water was provided, along with coffee and tea facilities and a hairdryer. The bed was very comfortable. Getting in takes a few steps. The building is about 500 meters from Potsdamer Platz and looks quite unassuming from outside, with nothing much like a typical hotel. First, you use a code sent by email to enter. Then you install the app, enter your details, and scan your ID. Once that’s done, you get a room code and use the app to open the main entrance, corridor doors and your room. Breakfast has to be selected in the app by 4:30 PM, then arrives in a box at the door between 7.00-8.00. If you don’t choose, they assign option 1, the French breakfast. The box is rather small, so don’t expect a big calorie boost.

We’ve stayed at Numa in other cities and have always been happy. This hotel is very central, and the rooms are nice with all the basics, like a coffee machine, tea and water. You can get other things from the essentials room, and the lockers are a big plus if your flight is after checkout. They even messaged us to offer early check-in. Sometimes it’s hard to get help because there’s no reception, which is their style.

I’ve stayed here twice already for work and honestly plan to keep coming back. The hotel and rooms are great and clean, the service is top-notch, and the location is good too. The Wi-Fi works really well, and you can even cast from your iPhone to the TVs. They have rooms with balconies. I can’t understand the bad reviews, or maybe I’ve just been lucky with really nice experiences. I’ll be back next time I visit Berlin.

I really liked the automated service. They text you a pin code to use on the doors, and there’s a room with most things you might need, like extra coffee, towels and earplugs. They should stock more oatly, though. I’d also like a coffee option besides K-cups, and the water fixtures can be tricky, but they worked. On the plus side, the shower pressure is insanely good. I had a great stay, and the room was nice. The Gibson, the attached bar, was fantastic for both light food and cocktails.
