We stayed in a small room for three, with bunk beds and a pull-out bed. The service was excellent, and breakfast is available for an additional €16 per person. It’s a great location, not far from the zoo. You can walk to most sights within an hour or take the bus. The zoo train station from the airport cost €5 each, and it’s about a 15-20 minute walk.

The hotel is part of the Ernst Reuter foundation, which supports democratic causes. We found the location excellent: the Zoo and Victory column are within walking distance, while the hotel sits on a quiet side street. We could sleep with the window open, which we prefer, since there’s no air conditioning. The room was clean, the bed made daily, and the decoration was friendly and modern. Reception were welcoming, and on our first night they stayed up for us after our flight was delayed and we arrived very late. I’d seen some negative reviews and was apprehensive about booking, but we found it very good value.

The staff and reception were nice and polite, the room was clean, and room service came every day. Breakfast was quite good, with lactose-free options, which was a big plus for me. My ground-floor single room was also quite quiet. But the room got very cold at night. The heating didn’t work even when I set it to 28 degrees, and there was no air ventilation. The lack of air circulation gave me a heavy headache during my stay.

A very affordable, good-value place to stay, and a great overall choice. The hotel’s in a perfect spot near central Berlin, and the staff are really kind and helpful. Breakfast is nice, and the rooms are reasonably pleasant, though they have a few minor flaws, like the heating, but nothing too serious.
