The whole experience was bizarre and upsetting, and it overshadowed everything we did on the trip. Rolf Pfitzer was arrogant, aggressive, and threatening. We arrived after 10pm as arranged, but he said he might not give us the keys until morning, even though we had a child with us. He shouted in my face and repeatedly asked, "are you a monkey swinging in a tree?" while making monkey sounds and gestures at me. When I smiled, he yelled "you are stupid, look at you" in my face several times. There was a mix-up with payment on the part of RS Apartments, not me, and Rolf then messaged me threatening to call the police by 8pm on our second day.

At night it was very noisy, and the balcony wasn't much good either. The double bed was okay, but my sister and I would have had to share a cheap sofa bed. The bathroom was reasonably decent, though not great. The place looked to me like a cheap one-room flat and smelled strongly, with a terrible atmosphere. The kitchen was unacceptable, and the small TV only got four teleshopping channels in awful quality through its DVB-T antenna. We met a man who didn't speak German well at the old building after my father arranged an appointment over several calls. The old elevator wasn't working, so we had to carry all our luggage up to the 5th floor. If you want to stay centrally in Berlin, don't book this place. Spend a bit more or accept a longer trip into the center.

The strong cigarette smell gets into everything, and the apartment is quite worn. It was clean considering the condition, but I'd treat it as somewhere for a short stay rather than a longer one. The location is pretty good, about five minutes from Adenauerplatz metro station and 10 minutes from Charlottenburg S-Bahn station.

A clean, quiet neighborhood with good connections and plenty of towels and kitchenware in the apartment. Supermarkets, shops, and restaurants are all nearby.
