The apartment was well equipped and in a good location, but dealing with customer service was unacceptable. I called six times after we arrived, five calls got disconnected, and on the sixth they said nothing could be done. We kept pushing because Apartment M005 had just one actual bedroom with a door, while the listing promised two. The other areas were walk through rooms, so going to the bathroom at night meant crossing someone else’s room. Limehome counted that as a second bedroom, though there was no privacy and the listing didn’t make the arrangement clear. Only on the second to last night did they move us to an apartment with two separate bedrooms, as advertised. This stress could have been avoided with an accurate listing or a floor plan. If Limehome thinks the online photos explain it, they should add floor plans, since the problem isn’t visible in the photos. Being hung up on repeatedly and told it wasn’t their problem is no way for a professional hospitality company to respond. I wish I could leave a better review, but we were disappointed and frustrated.
The courtyard is fantastic, and having a balcony was a nice bonus. It’s a quiet part of Berlin that still puts you near the main sights, so you can get a peaceful break away from the bustle. Highly recommended.
There are lots of cafes, places to eat and supermarkets nearby, which is handy when your room has a kitchen. You can walk to almost anywhere from here, and both the tram and metro are close. The neighborhood felt very quiet and safe, and the property itself was lovely and peaceful. We did have a room cleanliness problem during the first few days. They sorted it quickly by giving us a new room, but the cleaning still needs a lot of improvement. Even so, I think I’d choose this place again if I returned.
The location is nice and the place was clean, though the balcony seemed pretty small. The apartment had only been refurbished half-heartedly, and the standard was very low, well below IKEA.
After staying at five different Lime Homes in Berlin, I found this one the worst by far. The elevator was out all week. I was lucky to be on the second floor with my suitcase, but I can’t imagine hauling luggage to the fourth or fifth. The bed sat up on a platform, which might have seemed clever, until I had to climb down and back up stairs to use the bathroom at night. It didn’t feel safe. There wasn’t an armchair or sofa, just a useless round cushion and a stiff wooden chair. I liked having a balcony, but guests in the building opposite shouted from theirs every evening. The buildings face a shared inner patio, so it got noisy quickly. With the windows open, especially in warm weather when you want fresh air at night, it was hard to sleep. I definitely won’t come back here.
