TITANIC Gendarmenmarkt Berlin

We paid a pretty good price for two superior rooms, so I’d stay again. The rooms were clean, with decent bathrooms and powerful showers, though they’re on the small side. I personally wouldn’t call the hotel five star. It is clean, and the main foyer makes an impressive first impression. For tourists, the location is spot on, and there’s a decent bar downstairs. Check-in was seamless, with professional, welcoming staff. There was also a lovely Christmas market just behind the hotel, about a three minute walk away. Stayed: 20 December 2025.

The spa and gym were both very nice, and the hotel itself is a lively place to stay. The staff were kind and helpful. When we needed a taxi, they called one for us and it arrived in under five minutes. I’d recommend the hotel overall, but dinner was awful. The restaurant charged €23.50 for a burger that took an hour to arrive. It was small and not very tasty, and the salad came with a sauce that later gave me a stomachache.

The hammam was an amazing surprise, and I really enjoyed the spa. Our room was clean and had a great view. The front desk team was wonderful too, with a calm, seamless check-in.

The breakfast was a saving grace: plenty of choice and tasty, and the location worked well for exploring Berlin. Still, I’m not sure I’d recommend this place. It felt more like a four star hotel than a five star one. I’d booked a twin room, but was told at check-in that none were available and got a double instead. We asked for a separate duvet, only to be told housekeeping was closed and none could be provided. That wasn’t what I expected from a five star hotel. The rooms are showing their age, and the shower would sometimes lose its heat.
