Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Hotel

Having a balcony in my room was a nice touch, and the reception staff were friendly. The room was clean, and breakfast was well organized. It’s a business hotel in a great location. My one gripe: there’s no kettle in the room, which I’d expect at a three-star place.

The staff were kind and ready to help, and breakfast had plenty of choice. My room was on the small side but very clean and well kept. The VCH hotel is also easy to reach by public transport, with lots of places within walking distance. I had a great stay and would come back.

I ended up here after the hostel next door had no rooms left, and I’m glad I did. The place was very clean, and the receptionists were helpful and friendly with check-in and storing my luggage. They even brought me spoons and forks when my food delivery arrived late at night. Such a pleasant stay.

We paid €138 for one night and still ended up without breakfast, which was a really disappointing experience. We came down at 9:35, about half an hour before service ended, but the omelets and bacon were already gone. All that was left was some bread, cheese, cereal, tea, and coffee. When we asked if they could make more, we were told the kitchen was closed, even though we could see people moving around in there. My friend, who came with me and works as a hotel chef, and I know how the kitchen runs and how guests should be treated. We’ve never had this kind of treatment before. Paying that much for a night and having this experience just isn’t okay.
