JUFA Bernkastel Kues

We'd recommend this very nice, clean hotel. The buffet dinner and breakfast were good, and the location right on the Mosel river was great.

We stayed at Jufa Bernkastel in July 2025 and wouldn't recommend it to tourists. It felt like a soulless industrial bunker outside the town center, with mediocre service. Most staff were friendly, but that didn't make up for the hotel, especially given how much we paid for what was meant to be a luxury stay. We won't come back. Maybe it suits business travelers better. There was no air conditioning, and the room was hot. The ventilation barely worked and didn't cool it down. Staff knew about the problem but kept saying it was bad programming so people wouldn't leave, and only admitted the issue when we checked out. There was one curtain for two windows, so we couldn't darken the room properly. Staff said this was deliberate and that guests wanting a dark room should lower the shutters. But the shutters only went all the way down, not halfway, leaving a choice between a hot, dark room with poor sleep or a cooler, bright room where daylight woke us. The food options were limited to one menu, and the restaurant closed at 8PM. The bar was supposed to close at 10PM, but staff were sometimes elsewhere or said last call had already passed.

Loved our stay here. We'll come back!

The rooms were comfortable and stayed pleasantly cool without A/C. It’s a nice hotel, though a little far from the centre. The staff were pleasant, but could be more customer friendly.
