Golden Tulip Bielefeld

I had to ask for toilet paper, and after five days there had been no room cleaning. At arrival they said there’d be no service in the room because of corona, and I’d have to pick up fresh towels at reception. At checkout they also wouldn’t give me a printed bill, saying it was their policy because of corona. Why? It was absurd. The hotel is quite outdated, and they said they hadn’t renovated because of corona. If not now, when? Breakfast was apparently busy enough to require shifts, though I never saw more than five tables occupied and the hotel seemed more than half empty. Still, they put me in a room beside a construction generator that started at 7 a.m. Luckily I sleep well, but had to shut the windows. The rooms are noisy too, I could clearly hear water running in the bathroom next door. If corona was such a major concern, why put guests in adjacent rooms? I definitely wouldn’t book again or recommend it. Overall, poor.

I was here on a business trip and would happily stay again. The room was clean and well maintained, the amenities were very good, and the staff were helpful. I especially liked the in-house breakfast for 15 Euros, well worth the price. Traditional German food and shops are within walking distance.

Breakfast was really good, and I’d stay here again. It’s a nice hotel in the older central part of Bielefeld. The room was good, though a little dark. The bathroom could use better upkeep, since the shower often left water on the floor.

The breakfast was quite expensive, but it was worth it. The room on the top floor was far too hot in summer, with no air conditioning. We also couldn’t add a bed for our small child, which the staff spent 30 minutes trying to explain to us.
