Parking didn’t seem to be a problem, even with so many guests around, perhaps because a lot of people had arrived by bus. The hostel is split between two buildings, and the one behind the playground is mostly for families with young children, which took me a moment to figure out. My room was okay, though it had very few outlets for the number of people staying in it. The bathrooms were clean, with private showers and toilets. Breakfast struck me as pretty unusual as an American, but I found enough I liked to make a filling meal.

The facilities are very basic, and a room for six people had only three outlets. There were children around three to seven yelling and making noise with their families, even though the family building is supposed to be separate. I pointed this out to the receptionist, who said she didn’t know.

The staff were kind, the room felt cozy, and the views were amazing. Everything was perfect!

We found the whole property very well kept, and breakfast had good choices, including a really cute pancake machine. The balcony was huge, with lovely mountain views. The room was a normal size and had a kids’ bed available, and the bathroom was clean and good. Getting here is convenient on bus 839, although Google Maps doesn’t show it and sends you walking uphill instead.

The location at Köningsee was great, and parking was free. Breakfast had a good, classic selection, and the mattresses were comfortable for a hostel. The staff were friendly and let me check in late. A towel was provided, but bring your own shampoo, and you have to make your own bed, which can be awkward if you arrive late while everyone is asleep. There’s a 3.5€ nightly surcharge for people who aren’t hostel group members, plus 3€ city tax.
