We stayed in room 9, at the far end of the first floor. It was nice, though road noise was a bit of an issue and the pillow was horrible. Bring your own pillow when you travel! The food was good too, but the hotel is expensive, especially if you book through booking.com. The hotel lowers the rate for the second and third nights, while booking.com keeps charging the highest rate for every night. Beware!

The location is beautiful, and you can walk along the river. The hotel itself is pretty ordinary and pricey. Our room was very small, and the view from the window wasn’t great. It was clean, the staff were friendly, and the restaurant was good.

There’s no lift to the restaurant or down the stairs to the toilets, which could make things difficult if you have a child or a disability. The menu was only in German and French, and one waitress spoke basic, broken English. The staff seemed emotionless, with no expression or desire to serve us. The food was tasteless, and the salad bar was open for swarms of flies from outside. A disaster of a restaurant. Avoid it at all costs.

We came back a couple of weeks ago for our wedding anniversary, after sleeping here 31 years ago when it was very nice. The meal this time was very nice too.

I only went to the restaurant. It was very clean, the service was friendly, and the salad bar was nice. The Schnitzels were really tasty.
