Hotel Garni Gunther

The location was perfect, with lovely sunset views. In my research, this was the most affordable riverfront hotel with a balcony, and it lived up to expectations. The room was clean and the wifi strong and steady, though the shower area was a bit small and there weren’t many surfaces for setting things down. The room felt a little warm even though May evenings were cool. I had some trouble with the thermostat, heating, and airflow, and as a non-European I also struggled with lüften the door. On my last day I figured out how to leave the balcony door unsealed, but I still couldn’t lüften!

Staff gave excellent service and even arranged gluten-free bread for us. We had a river view, and the location was super convenient, with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. You can park in front for 1 euro per hour or 6 euro per day, or use nearby parking. The room had an old design but was very clean; the wifi could be stronger. Breakfast was very nice and worth 13 euro. When you book, you get a free card for buses and the local museum, plus some % off boat rides.

I spent four nights here in April and had a lovely room with a balcony and incredible river views. Breakfast was typically German, with great coffee and a view of the Rhein. This is a fantastic little bed and breakfast hotel right on the Bingen riverfront. Service was good and the off-season price reasonable. I can’t recommend it enough.

Scott & Sylvia were so accommodating, helping us find directions to good restaurants. Scott is American, and it was lovely to chat in our local language; Sylvia spoke excellent English. Breakfast had lots of choices and was awesome. The three of us stayed in the guest house at the back. It was nice and clean, and both the double bed and futon were very comfortable. A super nice place. We’d definitely recommend it and would happily return. Thank you!
