Farm stay Hof auf der Wurp

It was okay.

The children were thrilled by the two friendly dogs, who were always happy to be petted and even came along once while we were looking for the kids. My daughter also got to ride a horse and immediately wanted to return for a longer visit. We found the milking really interesting too. It was our first farm holiday with our children, aged 13 and 8, and we stayed two nights. The room was cozy, and there was a pitcher of fresh raw milk in the fridge to welcome us, which was delicious. It was a lovely experience, even though we'd pictured the stay a little differently. Thanks so much for the hospitality. We felt very welcome and left with wonderful memories.

The upstairs space is really roomy and cozy, and the farmhouse is a charming place to stay between Bremen and Bremerhaven. It's well placed for day trips. The only downside for me is that there's no running loop right here, although I could have gone running nearby from Brake, for example.

Our daughter was most taken with Hans and Hannes and the calves, while our little son had a great time with the big collection of pedal tractors. We were there for a weekend at the end of June, and the apartment was spotless with everything we needed. Fresh milk and a jar of jam were waiting as a welcome. The Holthusen family had gone away for a short break, but their very, very nice employee Zoe patiently answered all our questions. We'll definitely come back.
