Ferienwohnung Harzblick

The host’s response to our Airbnb review was disappointing. We’d written honestly and objectively about the problems, but were then described as overly critical, which felt unprofessional. We had hoped for a few restful days in nature. The setting was quiet and beautiful, and cleanliness was acceptable, but the cabin was short on basic supplies: garbage bags, dishcloths, paper towels, enough towels, and cleaning products. The vacuum barely worked, the kitchen wasn’t equipped well enough for six people, the sink leaked, and the Wi-Fi was almost unusable. Lights flickered, the outdoor motion detector had a loose connection, the bed creaked loudly, and the toilet flushed frequently. There’s potential here, but right now the price doesn’t match what you get. It may suit people who expect little comfort and don’t need the basics to work. It wasn’t the stay we’d hoped for.

The countryside view is fantastic, and the surroundings are both quiet and beautiful. Inside, the apartment was spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed, including plenty of dishes and cutlery. It was one of the cleanest vacation apartments I’ve stayed in.

The quiet scenery around Hohegeiß is lovely, and the place was clean, so there’s something good to build on here. But the cabin needs more attention before it feels like a cozy retreat. The Wi-Fi was nearly unusable, the lighting was dim, and several lamps had loose connections. The outside motion detector kept flickering at night like a thunderstorm. The bed creaked with every move and interrupted our sleep, while the toilet struggled to flush even small droppings. We also found too few basics: no trash bags, dishcloths, paper towels, enough towels, or general cleaning supplies. The vacuum spread dirt around instead of picking it up. For six people, the kitchen was poorly equipped, without working knives, a cheese slicer, baking paper, or an ash pan for the fireplace. The dishwasher dripped, leaving water under the sink. Hohegeiß is lovely, but the cabin lacks some spice. With improvements and more care in the details, it could make good use of its potential.

Could you send me your contact details so I can book the house? Do you have a website? 🙏🏻
