You get a cheap room, but the shower and toilet are down the hall. The hallway smelled strongly of cigarettes, and the smell had reached the room too. The front desk person was nice, but WiFi cost a Euro and didn’t work. The sheets seemed clean, though the pillow had a large tear with foam spilling out. I’d only stay here if you’re looking for a very basic hotel.

The hotel was clean, but I felt unwelcome and just wanted to sleep and leave. The light-haired receptionist, who I think was the owner or manager, was very unfriendly and unhelpful. She didn’t greet anyone in the mornings, knew nothing about the area when we asked, and spoke to us as if our questions were stupid. I wouldn’t stay here again.

It was clean, cheap, and included breakfast, with the tram and train stations just up the road. In my travels around Europe, I’ve found cheap hotels near train stations. With my Euro pass, I could use Greece’s super fast ferries by paying only a booking fee. Some countries also charge a fee to use the train system even with a first-class ticket, and you need to book your seat one day ahead when travelling between countries.
