Pentahotel Bremen

We spent a couple of weeks here during a transitional time for our family, and the hotel felt welcoming throughout. We were very happy with the stay and would choose it again. It's a beautiful, cozy place with a lively stream of young people coming and going. The modern, picturesque design has its own postmodern, Warhol-like style, which we loved. A particularly handy touch was the 24/7 pizza service: even arriving very late, we could order one and eat it at a restaurant table about 15 minutes later.

The staff were friendly, and even though we arrived well after midnight, check-in went smoothly. The hotel was clean and fresh, with a bathroom that looked brand new and comfortable beds. It's in a quiet, pleasant area, about a 15-minute drive from central Bremen. We only wished we'd stayed longer to enjoy the cozy lobby and pool table.

I can't recommend this hotel to anyone concerned about privacy, security, or proper service. After I reported that my room had been left wide open with all my belongings exposed, I got no apology, explanation, or effort to address it. I was just told that “these things happen.” Fortunately nothing was stolen, but that response showed a serious lack of professionalism and responsibility. This was especially troubling at a place advertised as four-star. I'd stayed three days without any housekeeping, so I asked for fresh towels and basic cleaning. The room was eventually cleaned, but then the door was left open. That breach of privacy and security was completely unacceptable.

I liked the hotel, but I missed having a small kitchen in the room. The shared kitchen wasn't always available, which made that a downside for me.
