The apartments could use better ventilation, or perhaps a subtle air freshener, since ours had a slightly musty smell. The spa area also needs clearer communication. We told reception it wasn’t obvious that the area was for nudists, and they promised a sign would go up promptly. Several days later, there still wasn’t one. It made for a very unpleasant experience that could have been avoided. The Beach Apartments were clean and quiet, with a well-kept complex and plenty of parking both outside and in the underground garage. Staff were consistently polite, professional, and keen to help. The location and cleanliness are strong points, and I’d recommend the complex. A few improvements to communication and the indoor air would make stays more pleasant.

The location was perfect, with three different restaurants about three minutes away and the beach just five minutes on foot. The apartment was exactly the style I wanted, chic and cozy with coastal charm, feminine but not kitschy. It was really beautiful, well equipped, comfortable, and everything felt good quality.

We were warmly welcomed, and the rooms were spotless and beautifully furnished. They had everything we needed, right down to cutlery and a hairdryer. The spa was lovely, especially the sauna, steam room, and snow room. The whirlpool wasn’t working, so we’ll have to try it next time.

We’ve stayed with Heimathafen Hotels more than 30 times, most often at Beach Apartments Büsum, because we love the location and the personal touch. As members of the bonus program, the “Friends Circle,” we used to find a handwritten card in the room when we arrived, often with a little extra like sweets, chocolates, or even a bottle of wine. On our most recent visit last week, there wasn’t even a card, which was disappointing. The Friends Circle drink voucher has changed too. It used to cover a bottle of wine or sparkling wine at any Heimathafen Hotel, then it became a glass of a drink of your choice, and now it can only be used at the Bretterbude in Büsum. Personal contact is also being replaced more and more by automated processes. The wonderful staff, like Nicole at the Beach Apartments Büsum, are a big part of why we keep coming back. With these cutbacks, I have to give one less star than I’d like.
