You can reach the Market square in about a minute on foot, which is a real plus. The hotel is basic rather than luxurious, and I’d use it for a short stop rather than a longer stay.

The replacement room was in much the same shape as the first: broken bed slats and a shower that was disgusting. In our original room, the toilet hadn’t been cleaned, the mattresses weren’t made up, medication was on the floor, the sofa had residue on it, and the fridge was dirty with leftovers and mold. The whole building is run-down, and that first room felt like a health hazard. See the photos for details. The health authorities should be notified. I’d strongly urge future guests to stay away and ask Booking.com to remove the listing.

We should have read the reviews before booking. The information on Booking.com and other sites is false, and the place is awful. Don’t book here.

We booked parking for two cars, but the spaces were in a dirty, rubbish-strewn courtyard where it felt like you could damage your car. There were also outside stairs down to the basement with no railings or safety barriers. Communication was difficult because the owner didn’t speak any German, and something about the situation seemed fishy. We had reserved a room for eight in Butzbach because it was close to a festival. We knew the reviews were bad, but it was worse than we expected. The rooms were filthy, the furniture was mismatched and falling apart, and there were dirty socks on the balcony. The kitchen was disgusting and the bathroom too dirty for us to shower, so we didn’t. We were put on the first floor. After the festival, three extra people suddenly turned up. The rooms only lock from the outside, so you have to be careful when reaching for the doorknob. Stay away from this “hotel”; I can’t recommend it at all.
