The rooms were clean and warm, and the service was excellent. The reception staff were decent and cooperative. Monica at reception was especially helpful, with a lovely smile. Whenever I visit this small city, I’ll stay at this hotel and recommend it to everyone. Thanks to the management and staff, especially Monica 😊

I was unexpectedly stuck in Buxtehude for the night without a reservation, but the staff kindly checked me in late. The hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable, which made a stressful evening much easier. Many thanks!

They replied to my Booking.com messages very quickly, which made things easier since I needed gluten-free breakfast. The scrambled eggs were amazing, and I had a very good night there. If I’m in Buxtehude again, I’ll probably stay here again. Thanks so much!

The location is hard to beat, right in the pedestrian area in the center of Buxtehude, with landmarks, shops, bars, and restaurants nearby. The view across the historic old town is beautiful, and paying the extra EUR 10 for a room with a view is well worth it. It’s a cute hotel in the old watermill in the historic center. Buxtehude was the first city in Germany to deliberately build a harbor and mill as part of its center, with a canal for access and to regulate the tide. Most rooms have been updated, though a few still have somewhat dated interiors. In those rooms, the lack of working outlets is a real problem. The only ones I could get to work were the one used by the desk lamp and the surge protector in the cupboard where the mini fridge used to be. There haven’t been fridges since the pandemic. Breakfast is included and quite decent, with eggs, meat, fresh rolls, tomato and mozzarella, yoghurt, cheese, and more.

The rooms are nice, if a little small, though that seems typical for the area. I wish they provided more toiletries so I wouldn’t have to pack as much.
