Victoria checked us in and was so helpful and friendly. We loved our room. It was perfectly clean, and we liked the older style, which suited the antiquity of the little town. It felt like stepping back in time, while the beds and bathrooms were clearly newer. That mix felt just right to us. The hotel is close to the main town square, though we drove to most places. We tried the breakfast buffet one morning. It was decent, with hot and cold options and different breads. If we return to Calw, we’ll stay here again.

The building is old and full of history, with a beer garden and a modern three-story addition at the back. The kitchen closes early, at 20:30. The shower floor was dangerously slippery, with nothing to prevent a slip. My standing leg slid as I stepped out, leaving me with a big bruise. Management replied that it wasn’t their responsibility.

My company held a training session at the hotel, and it was a wonderful experience. The conference room was spacious, the food was very good, and the service was excellent. The rooms are a little older, but they fit the area. I highly recommend the hotel.

I’m a musician, and during last night’s gig I joked that the minibar only had water. The owners were at the gig and left some lovely wine in my room. Thank you so much! They’re lovely people, and the hotel is beautiful. Definitely worth a visit.

The staff were super friendly, the food was great, and the hiking was superb. There’s a nice indoor pool, too.
