2/10
The rooms and grounds are clean, but at this price I expected more from what’s presented as a hotel castle. The rooms feel more like guesthouse quality, and the place doesn’t really feel like a castle anymore. Dinner was served in a small room that felt like a dressing room, while breakfast was moved upstairs to a modern space. It used to be downstairs, where the castle atmosphere was much stronger. The breakfast itself was poor, and I waited 25 minutes for someone to come ask whether I wanted coffee. From our dinner here, I also remember the fish being incredibly small for the price. We’ve stayed here three times, so this latest visit was a big disappointment.

The property is nice and the food is good, but weddings seem to happen here often. When one is taking place, the music carries through all the hotel rooms and can keep you awake until 3 am. It might help if wedding parties booked the whole hotel, so other guests aren’t disturbed.

The garden and open space are lovely, and the architecture has an impressive medieval style. It’s near the medieval castle, and the whole place feels romantic and special. I’d definitely choose it for a wedding.

The dining was especially delicate, and the wedding party at Schloss Rabenstein was splendid. The whole experience felt first class. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The restaurant is very good, and the rooms are clean and nice. It’s a small, pleasant hotel that could work well for a meeting or event.
