Pension Camping Schausten

We had everything we needed during our cycling tour stay in July this year. The owners were friendly and helpful, and I'd definitely recommend the place.

A five minute shower can feel rushed when you're washing long hair, so a longer timer would help. Pitching the tent was also tricky on the hard, pebbly ground, and the narrow site felt a bit crowded. Still, I'd happily stay again. It's only a ten minute walk into town, the facilities were clean, and the friendly staff made us feel welcome. The charming beer garden had tasty homemade food at good prices, good music, and quirky decor. It had such a nice feel that you wanted to sit with a beer and chat with the other campers.

The owner gave our pitch away while we were spending the day in Cochem, even though our tent was still there. It led to a big argument with the person who'd been given the spot, and we eventually left. The toilets and bathroom were very dirty, the pitches were stony and beside a terribly noisy road, and half the electric hookups didn't work. I really would not recommend this place.

The site is in lovely natural surroundings, with a relaxed feel, and it's just a short walk from the town centre. The owners were welcoming and helpful, and it felt clean, safe, and family friendly. There was plenty of room for children to run around, plus a play area with a slide, swings, and sand. We also recommend the restaurant's tasty burgers with delicious homemade sauces. It would suit either a short or a long stay.
