Hotel Am Museum Kv Ln

The beds were nice, the heating worked, and I liked the room's design and some of the artwork. There was a kind English-speaking woman available for calls. Cleanliness seemed okay at first, but then I saw an ant on the toilet paper. The bathroom drawer hadn't been cleaned at all, with some rubbish inside 🤣, and I spotted another ant too.

Really helpful, kind staff and a very nice breakfast. The room was large, comfortable, and clean, and the location worked well for the central town, train station, and cathedral. Good value for money, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The beds were comfortable, but there were ants in both the bedroom and bathroom. No tea or coffee facilities in the room, either.

The sheets weren't clean, although the hotel otherwise looked generally tidy. There was no air conditioning, which hadn't been clearly mentioned, and Cologne was hot. We couldn't open one window because a bird had nested outside it and we didn't want to disturb it. When we first arrived, the doors were locked and nobody was there. We called the number three times before someone came to let us in, about five or six minutes later. They gave us one key for both the main entrance and our room. We thought the staff member might come back, but there was no reception service during our stay. Being in a city we didn't know without anyone on hand was frustrating. On our last day, we'd moved our things to the hallway but hadn't checked out, since we planned to visit one more place briefly. When we came back and asked to use the bathroom, a staff member refused, saying our belongings were gone and the room had been cleaned. We explained that we hadn't checked out, and were eventually allowed to use the room for a short time. It felt especially uncomfortable after seeing no staff for the rest of our stay, then having this as our only interaction. If you book here, be aware you could have a similar experience. I don't think the hotel deserves an 8.0 rating.
