ipartment Koeln Oper @HOME by Best Western

Everything was great, except for the pillows.

After long workdays, repeatedly struggling to get into my own room was unacceptable. I had considered adding another night, but changed my mind and can't recommend this hotel based on my stay. The self-service check-in system failed again and again. On arrival, the machine didn't give me a working room key, so I had to call support just to get remote access. The next day I was told the problem was fixed and a key would be left in the mailbox. After work I picked it up, but it still didn't work. I kept calling support, going down to the machine, repeating the process, returning upstairs, and trying the key again. The issue was never resolved. The support follow-up was poor too. Someone said they'd call me back after speaking with a colleague, but nobody did. I had to contact support again because I still couldn't enter. Technical problems happen, but the handling showed little urgency, follow-up, or responsibility toward the guest.

I love the decor in this beautiful new apartment, and the location is fantastic, right next to the Cologne Opera House. There's even a self-service kiosk in the lounge for when you get a little hungry.

This fairly new accommodation is right in central Cologne, making it an ideal base for sightseeing, shopping, and going out.
