Lindner Hotel Cologne Am Dom, part of JdV by Hyatt

The restaurant staff, Pamela and Hichem, greeted us each morning with such warmth. They made us feel at home and even gave us a special “energy shot” to get the day started. The hotel is smaller than the competitor we usually use across the train station, nearer the Rhine, but all the staff were lovely from check-in on. We booked the Junior Dom Suite for its Cathedral view. The room was clean and spacious, with a balcony where we could sip wine and have a smoke in the evening. The location was ideal and more convenient for us than our previous spot, where we'd stayed for the previous 6 years. My husband and I plan to return. The hotel also has an indoor pool and sauna, which we didn't try this time but hope to next visit. Sorry I didn't take more photos this time.

With our sick daughter staying in the room with my wife, the breakfast team, Hichem & Pamela, made personalized eggs for her and helped us start each morning with vitamins. The front desk staff, including the people working nights, and the cleaning staff were also quick to help and make sure we had everything. Our room was basic but really quiet, and the location was fantastic. The main thing I wanted to mention is breakfast. The buffet was great, and Nico, our server, was fantastic, so kind and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Everyone at breakfast was great.

The reception and restaurant teams were fantastic, and breakfast had good food with a nice range of choices. The bed was comfortable, though the shower wasn't very nice. A good stay overall.
