Radisson Blu Köln

The room was bright, spacious, and comfortable, and the hotel felt welcoming and clean, with the shared areas well maintained. Breakfast was decent, though the choices were basic and the room was a bit crowded. Temperature control was the main issue. We couldn’t set it properly, and the room was quite cold in the morning even with the thermostat at 30°C. It seemed to blow only the air preset by the hotel, which made the stay less comfortable.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. The room was comfortable and clean, though nothing special, but it didn’t have enough amenities for two people despite our booking being for two. The gym was barely equipped for a decent workout, and the sauna barely heated up. There was no one to ask for help. The showers and toilets were mixed, and three quarters of the showers were open, so anyone could walk in and see you naked. We hardly spent time at the hotel apart from sleeping, parking, and using the sauna and gym. Parking was difficult, and the sauna and gym were a joke. There was barely any parking. We were told it was free, but warned not to leave because we might not find a spot when we returned. On the second night, a different staff member tried to charge me £20 for a parking card, even though the first staff member said it was free. After I explained that, they gave it to me for free again. Very odd. The staff were friendly but inconsistent, and some services weren’t working. I’m a Radisson premium member. At check-in, a friendly staff member embarrassed me in front of my friend when I asked about the free upgrade. They could only offer a room that was $6 more. What’s the point of premium membership? They also made a point of saying they were giving me late check out for free, even though it came with my membership, and made it sound like it was because they liked us, when they hadn’t done anything extra.

The location felt a bit far from the city center, which made quick trips out less convenient, and daily parking at €20 seemed expensive. Still, I’d recommend the Radisson Blu Hotel Cologne to business travelers looking for comfort and quality. I stayed there on a business trip and had a great experience. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, and breakfast was outstanding, with lots of variety.
