Gute Quelle Gstehaus

We didn’t stay at the gasthaus, just had dinner there, and the meal was excellent. The wiener schnitzel was beautifully presented, the fries were very good, and the salad was lovely and generous. Service was quick and friendly, and the prices weren’t high. On a quiet Monday night, it was a nice spot on a small street across from the river. The next day we had wiener schnitzel at a bigger hotel with a view across the river to Cochem. It cost more and wasn’t as good. We’d have returned to Cure Quelle for a second night, but Tuesday is their ruhetag.

A small, friendly bed and breakfast with clean, comfortable rooms and a simple continental breakfast. It’s in a quiet spot on the other side of the river from most of the restaurants and hotels.

Superb service.

The guesthouse offers good value, though it’s not luxurious. The rooms are clean and a good size, but the bathroom felt very small. The house is noisy, and it’s on a busy street. We stayed in the guesthouse and had to walk about five minutes to the other guesthouse for breakfast each morning. There was plenty to eat, with something for everyone. The town center is about a 10-minute walk away. Parking was a nightmare: all the hotel spaces were taken, and we had to park elsewhere. In peak season, finding a spot there seems highly unlikely.
