We only meant to stop for wine and the castle view, but the menu and fair prices convinced us to stay for dinner. The food was delicious, and the service was warm and friendly.

The restaurant has tasty local dishes and excellent wines, and the staff make you feel welcome. Our room was clean, comfortable, and nicely equipped, with a relaxing feel. Hotel Hieronimi is in a great spot in Cochem, with lovely views of the Moselle River and nearby vineyards. A pleasant, peaceful base for exploring the town.

The Jager art schnitzel was fantastic, and the salad that came with it was incredible. There was plenty to eat, and the prices seemed fair for a small resort town where I expected things to cost more. I nearly skipped this restaurant because of the negative reviews, but none of the issues mentioned there happened during my visit. I was seated right away at 8 PM and had wine within two minutes. The staff were very friendly and didn't rush me. I forgot my camera, so the only picture I have of the inside came from a friend I met there.

The inside has plenty of character and is just as good as the terrace. That terrace has the best view in Cochem, and the steak was perfect. Attentive staff, good beer, and delicious wines too. One of my firm favourites.

The house wine was pretty good, and I enjoyed a feinhalb. We had white asparagus with salmon, both light and fresh. After some extremely salty food elsewhere in Germany, this was a welcome change, probably among the best meals we had there. Such a lovely place.
