Hotel Arheilger Hof

After living here for a while, I had more negative experiences than I can remember having in my whole life. The main administrator was as helpful as possible, but I can’t say the same about the rest of the staff. The bins were emptied rarely, and we saw rats several times, with maggots everywhere. If your room is right next to them, opening the window is impossible. In the rooms, you might find cockroaches, flies, bedbugs, silverfish, and more. Even after moving out, I still get upset when I see something suspicious moving in my room. It’s disgusting. Sometimes the rooms weren’t cleaned on scheduled cleaning days. They charge for everything they can. The washing machine costs €1 per hour for a standard 60-minute cycle, and when it finishes you can’t open the door to get your clothes until you pay another €1. The same goes for the dryer.

Breakfast was lovely each morning, served in a really relaxing atmosphere, and everyone was helpful and nice. We absolutely loved the cozy German feel of the place.

The plumbing was in terrible shape, and the cleaning wasn’t adequate. We had serious problems with bugs, including cockroaches, flies, and even bedbugs. When I complained about stained sheets, the man at reception said nothing could be done until the next morning. Breakfast had very limited options, though compared with the other problems, that was the least of our worries. This hotel is an embarrassment.

After a week, the room was still basically just as dirty despite getting “fresh” bedsheets, and you might find cockroaches or bedbugs too. Basic hotel supplies like soap are apparently for you to provide yourself. Even the rubbish outside the hotel can sit for weeks without being emptied. For a longer stay, the problems seem to build up: breakfast gets tiresome after three days, the ceiling might leak in the rain if you’re on the top floor after four days, and the pipes might get blocked after five. By day six, silverfish may start coming out and taking over your room. You might not notice most of this if you’re only staying two days.
