Gut Deinster Mühle

Some things aren't fixed straight away, but that's a pretty minor thing to complain about. The operators are really nice and offer advice, and they can only do what they can when customers get frustrated. Fishing has its good days and its blank ones. On balance, I've had good experiences here. The facility is well kept, the trout are a decent size for portions, and they regularly restock.

They’re still reshaping and improving the grounds and ponds, so it takes time. There’s a portable toilet at pond 3 now, and the regular restrooms are still available too. The new owner is nice, and the stocking levels seem fair. This is still one of the best facilities I know, with its own fish hatchery. Once you get into salmonid fishing, you tend to stick with it. 😉

Two years ago I really enjoyed fishing there, and it was a great spot. These days I hardly catch anything, and I suspect there aren't enough fish. I've often seen dead fish left decomposing on the bank (see attached picture). The last two times I went, all I did was soak my bait. I've heard similar accounts from other anglers too.

The pond was being restocked with fish while we were there, and even then it was obvious there were plenty in it. There were three other anglers around. I visited with my two children and we had a fantastic time. The place is beautiful and clean, and the man handling the cash was very friendly. He even gave the kids some useful tips. I really don't understand the negative reviews. We’ll definitely return, and I can highly recommend it.
