The countryside setting was fantastic, peaceful apart from the rooster and all the birds singing in the morning. We stayed three nights with family in July 2016. The staff were friendly and willing to help, though they seemed a bit unprofessional and most didn’t speak English. Breakfast was okay, with the usual Northern European options. Dinner was simple and dull, with only boiled vegetables that seemed to come from a can. Asking for proper vegetarian food didn’t get us anywhere. On the last day I even gave them advance notice that two of us were vegetarian for dinner. That evening they asked something like, “You two vegetarians, is beef okay?”

The manor’s biggest plus for us was how close it is to the Baltic Sea resorts. We had a lovely weekend, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was generous, the food was excellent, and we didn’t lack for anything. We were lucky to get a tour with the owner, who told us about the house’s history and his vision for it. It’s a small, elegant place with a family feel. The antique furnishings suit the house and give it a special charm, though that style won’t be for everyone. There’s room to improve, but a manor like this can never be perfect.

We went for brunch, and there was plenty to eat. The hot lunch dishes were good quality, but a few had gone cold. The staff were very friendly. It’s an old castle, and the interiors make you feel like you’ve stepped into another era.

The dining room is enchanting, and the service was friendly throughout. It’s a little out of the way, but the place is truly beautiful and we felt well looked after. The antique furniture collection is impressive. The castle exterior shows its age, and there were a few dark corners in the bathroom shower, though that didn’t bother us much.
