Bahn Hotel

I stayed for two nights and found the front desk especially helpful, friendly, and kind, which matters a lot to me. The hotel is safe and the location is perfect, about a two-minute walk from Dusseldorf HBF. My room was at the back and completely quiet, with enough space, drawers, and wardrobe room for clothes. It also had a TV, hair dryer, and enough plugs. Breakfast costs 12 €, which seemed standard compared with my previous hotel stays in Germany, and there was plenty: cheese, jams, honey, bread, eggs, coffee, tea, and fresh orange juice. I'm very happy to recommend this hotel.

I went to the hotel in person the next day, but still got no result. Booking.com staff had told me the hotel could have refunded the payment if it wanted to, but they chose not to. When I called to explain, the staff were cold and unfriendly and said they couldn't help. We'd booked one night last summer through Booking.com, travelling with a small child. Our flight was landing late, and I realized just after booking that we wouldn't make it before check-in closed around 11 PM. I cancelled two minutes after booking, but the hotel kept the full amount, about €80. A terrible experience, and I'd never stay there again. The response felt disappointing and unprofessional, with no understanding, empathy, or respect for guests. There are many better hotels in Düsseldorf that care about their customers.

For the price, it was totally fine. Clean room and a comfortable bed.

There are loads of restaurants within walking distance, and the hotel is close to the main station. But bring earplugs. Noise insulation is almost nonexistent. At 5 am I was woken by someone in the next room showering, packing, and rolling suitcases, then at 7 am by loud construction outside. It ruined my mood for the day.
