Barcelona Bed & Breakfast

We had a very clean, tidy place in a lovely spot in the Altstadt. There’s a really good Mexican restaurant and a really good burger place next door, both doing takeaway, and breakfast was very good too. The apartment had no refrigerator, though, and parking near the hotel was really expensive at 24 euros a day.

The breakfast was good and the location was prime. I was worried at first about having a window onto a lively street, but the windows were amazing. With them shut, I barely heard anything.

Breakfast was the best part for me: fresh, plenty of choice, and a lovely layout and decoration. It made up for how simple the rooms were. The location is also hard to beat, right in Düsseldorf's old town with food options everywhere. I travel here for work and have tried several places. The room was clean and new, but very basic, with small beds and a quite small bathroom. Sitting on the toilet, I could practically kiss the wall in front of me. The mattress was okay, but the pillows could be better. A misleading booking site made this look like more than a nice, clean, well-located bed and breakfast, so expectations matter. Düsseldorf is expensive, and for this price I’d expect a larger room elsewhere, though it’s still not bad value. I’d pay 20% more for an upgrade, which is what nearby hotels charge. I might come back, but I’m not sure. If I did, I wouldn’t mind staying here again.

Four stays so far, and every one has been great. The rooms are clean and fresh, the breakfast is great and gets topped up while you’re eating, and everyone’s very friendly. Suttons bar is right next door and connected to the hotel.
